In spring 2023, Leirvik AS signed a contract with Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen) for the delivery of 55m x 9m pedestrian bridge to Trondheim, named Hangarbrua. The bridge crosses the railway lines at Leangen station and is a part of the main pedestrian and bicycle road towards Trondheim city center.

It’s a network arch construction fully from aluminium, only the tension rods are made from stainless steel. This 60tons lightweight construction, can easily be installed by a single crane, needs no supports between the train lines and is maintenance free during its 100 years lifetime. Construction starts in May 2024, and the bridge shall be installed in June 2025.
