A pre-project for the Langenuen suspension bridge on the E39 fjord crossing with a span of 1270 meter has been undertaken. Together with our partners we are working on making the world’s longest aluminium bridge a reality. The project has proved feasibility on all conditions: Global stability, global and local strength, and 100y fatigue life. The bridge girder from aluminium saves 40% weight compared to a steel alternative, and the project’s material consumption on towers, cables and anchorage will also be reduced by 10-15% due to the lightweight box girder.
