The Wisting field is planned to be developed with a floating production and storage
vessel (FPSO) Equinor will be the operator for the field development phase.
The scope of work for the Wisting circular shaped FPSO includes a 6 story living
quarters module in aluminium for up to 140 people and a helicopter deck. The
estimated value of the Living Quarters and Helideck is estimated to MNOK 1300.
Leirvik AS has already started the FEED work for the living quarters and helideck
under a separate FEED contract with Aker Solutions. The actual fabrication start is
planned in the 3rd quarter of 2023 subject to investment decision and governmental
approvement of the project. The final delivery of the living quarters and helideck is
planned the 1st quarter of 2026.
“We are very proud to be part of the Wisting field development. The fact that Equinor
select Leirvik for the delivery of the living quarters and helideck for their offshore
platforms is for us a vote of confidence. We thrust that it is our work related to HSE
and quality together with a predictable project performance that gives results. It also
means a lot for the whole offshore industry. Wisting will be a great opportunity for the
Norwegian yards that traditionally delivers constructions to the oil and gas sector.
Now we can invest for future products customised for a more sustainable
development and greener energy sources.” said Helge Gjøseter, CEO at Leirvik AS.

About the Field
The Wisting field is a standalone field development in the Barents Sea. The concept
chosen for the Wisting development involves a circular FPSO and a power-fromshore solution to be integrated in the technical solution, resulting in very low
CO2 emissions from the field.
